Sodalite has a very long history that has been traced to around 2600-2000 B.C. It dates to the Caral civilization which is in northern Peru. They were known for their great Architecture. More recently within history, Sodalite was "re"- discovered again in Greenland in 1811.
Sodalite is known as a "Stone of Insight." By now if you are an avid crystal collector you likely have Sodalite, maybe even in great quantity but even still I want to get to the etheric and metaphysical properties. I often feel like some overlook Sodalite due to the quantity which exists and the ease it which it can be obtained.
So what is special about Sodalite is its unique energy and vibration that allows us to unlock deep intuition. You may be one of those that is able to receive a deep rooted gut feeling and know something is going to occur before it does, get a feeling about a particular situation in advance, or actually experience a prediction about a future event. It comes and goes with seemingly no control. You just know when you know but have tried to focus your intent on another subject matter and come up blank. Sodalite is a beautiful stone that will help to expand your intuitive gifts and pull in awareness and control. It helps to get rid of natural contradictions within the mind. You know the type... where you second guess yourself, don't trust your intuition, fail to tell someone of your gut instinct out of fear of being regarded as crazy. Sodalite has the power to get you deep within your subconscious and highlight your strengths. It will also place a light on areas that you need to grow and help push you into pathways where you can practice expanding your gifts.
Sodalite broadens our communication through our Third Eye to our Angelic and Ancestral realms while helping to advance our own higher self and becoming in alignment with our true selves. It enhances communication with our guides and spiritual team and thrusts us into enhancement of our natural gifts. Sodalite also assists with our communication from our Throat Chakra paving the way to a unique communicative balance. When our Throat Chakra is out of balance it can cause us to be either to brash, speaking angerly, and without a filter which generally causes discontent within relationships of any kind. Alternately, it can cause you to close up, not be able to speak, withhold feelings, and stand up for yourself. Sodalite works diligently to get your communication in alignment so that it is healthy and productive. It helps to work through the triggers that cause the Throat Chakra to become imbalanced.
To feel the full effect of Sodalite, it is really great to start incorporating it within your meditation practices, use it during any type of spiritual workings such as helping to discern gut feelings, instincts, intuition, and visionary practices.
